In a notable celebration of culinary heritage and cultural exchange, the recently published cookbook “A Taste of Two Worlds: Stories + Recipes from Greenland and Maine” has achieved global recognition at the Gourmand Awards in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The book is a collaborative effort by students from the University of Southern Maine Tourism & Hospitality program, the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Wabanaki Public Health, Arctic Education Alliance, Inuili Food College in Greenland, and other industry partners. Through a series of curated recipes, the book fosters a deeper understanding of indigenous foodways and underscores the importance of food in cultural preservation and dialogue. Muskie School faculty Dr. Tracy Michaud along with her partners lead this project for the Arctic Education Alliance. For more information, please visit here and read this Bangor Daily News article.
