Two companion sculptures, Void, created by BFA Senior student Katie Riley are in juried exhibition Rising curated by Bella Hendry.
Katie Riley created these sculptural works last year during her intermediate Sculpture class in the USM Art Department. She made the sculptures by forming plaster shells over a round form, and then meticulously and laboriously drawing countless lines across the forms’ void with hot glue: one sculpture white, the other black. Riley’s work, Void, is also featured on the Rising Exhibition’s poster.
Riley’s work is now on view at gallery 82 Paris, 538 Congress Street, through August 23, 2024.
