Discover Downtown Westbrook, with generous support from the Warren Memorial Foundation, has partnered with the University of Southern Maine Art Department to bring a new mural installation project to downtown Westbrook. USM Art Professor Emerita, Michael Shaughnessy, solicited twelve current USM Art students to create original works on 4’ x 4’ wooden panels, to be installed on buildings throughout the downtown district. Over winter break the selected student artists were asked to create artwork inspired by the theme “Flow Together”, and encouraged to explore their individual creative process.
Murals were painted by USM Art Students Lucy Berry, Leah Boutwell, Genevieve Chicoine, Whitney Davenport, Taylor Farwell, Archer Isgro, Ava Lawson, Courtney Rog, Bethany Shaw, Emily Straetz, Trevor Taylor, and Libby Lange of the CAHS Dean’s Office.

The complete collection of murals will be installed this spring throughout downtown Westbrook. Visit downtown Westbrook and experience the incredible artwork inspired by the theme “Flow Together”.
Special thanks to Westbrook Housing for hosting the student artists at 10 Foster Street, located in the former Westbrook High School Gymnasium.
