CEPARE Assistant Director Writes Op-Ed “Engaging Maine’s students requires more than banning phones”

In an Op-ed for the Portland Press Herald, Jennifer Chace, Assistant Director of the College of Education’s Center for Education Policy, Applied Research and Evaluation (CEPARE),  writes about the need to engage Maine’s students in civic dialogue. She and her co-author, Eric Waddell, Executive Director of the Maine School Management Association, describe an upcoming collaboration to engage students with educators and school board members to design a civic assembly to develop a set of recommendations for local districts to consider as they work out the implementation of their new cell phone policies.
