The USM Public Health program announces Accelerated MPH.

The USM public health program is excited to announce the official launch of its accelerated Master of Public Health (MPH) degree option. Now students in any major can apply to start their graduate studies while still completing their undergraduate degree. Depending on their number of undergraduate electives, juniors and seniors may take up to 21 MPH credits, which is basically half of the MPH degree. These include classes in epidemiology, health systems, and social and behavioral health. Erika Ziller, the public health program chair notes, “There is a huge need for MPH graduates throughout Maine and beyond, with both the federal and state governments investing in our public health infrastructure. This accelerated option will help students interested in improving the public’s health get both degrees and into the workforce sooner.”
