Congratulations to the graduating class of 2026!

The Muskie School of Public Service proudly congratulates the graduating Class of 2026 and celebrates the accomplishments of nearly 100 students who earned Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees, along with graduate & undergraduate certificates, this academic year.

This year’s graduates represent the broad interdisciplinary strengths of the Muskie School across public health, policy, planning & management, geography-anthropology, tourism and hospitality, and public policy & education leadership. Through their studies, research, internships, field experiences, and community engagement, these students have demonstrated a strong commitment to improving communities in Maine and beyond.

Douglas Rooks, Maine historian, biographer, and lifelong journalist was the Keynote Speaker at the Muskie Graduation Celebration this year. Douglas has edited daily and weekly newspapers in Maine and New Hampshire, and has written a weekly opinion column for more than 45 years, winning state, regional and national awards. He has also published four books and has a forthcoming book this spring titled: Transformational: Ken Curtis, Maine’s Reform Governor. The Muskie School was grateful for Douglas’ attendance at the celebratory event and his address to the students.

The Muskie School extends its sincere congratulations to all graduates and award recipients. We are proud of their accomplishments and look forward to seeing the many ways they will continue to contribute as leaders, practitioners, researchers, and public servants in the years ahead!
