As Maine continues to implement its statewide Literacy and Numeracy Action Plans, educators have identified a need for practical, accessible tools to support that work. The newly developed playbooks serve as companion resources that translate strategy into practice by offering actionable tools, real-world examples, and tiered guidance to support educators, school administrative unit (SAU) teams, and school leaders as they move from planning to implementation.
A new chapter in Maine’s literacy and numeracy journey begins with action, collaboration, and celebration.
Maine administrators, educators, coaches, and community partners are invited to the University of Southern Maine in Portland on September 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to celebrate a major milestone in advancing teaching and learning statewide at the Maine Department of Education (DOE) fall launch events for the Literacy and Numeracy Playbooks, an initiative focused on turning vision into action for schools. This interactive event will focus on turning Maine’s statewide vision into action in schools and communities.
Lunch will be provided for all participants. Space is limited to 50 literacy and 50 numeracy participants. Parking costs $9.00. Early registration is encouraged. Register here.
By creating space for connection, exploration, and planning, the fall launches underscore Maine’s commitment to ensuring that all educators have the tools and support they need to advance literacy and numeracy for every student.
