In collaboration with USM’s Office of Sustainability, Environmental Science & Policy hosted 60 Gorham High School 9th grade students for an Eco-Tour of the Gorham campus and our Aquaponics Lab. Students learned about LEED certified buildings on campus and the campus waste systems. In the Aquaponics Lab, students were introduced to our most recent research project (lead by Dr. Willis) that is testing fish feed created from locally sourced materials like soybean waste from tofu, distillery waste, and black soldier fly larvae.
