Dear Campus Community,
I hope this message finds you well and ready for an amazing academic year ahead. As the Police Chief of our vibrant community, it brings me great pleasure to welcome each one of you back after a well-deserved summer break.
Our Portland campus has been growing, and we are delighted to announce the completion of new state-of-the-art residential buildings, Portland Commons, providing you with comfortable and modern accommodation options. Moreover, we have a fantastic addition to our campus that we cannot wait for you to explore—the McGoldrick Centre for Career and Student Success. This new facility is dedicated to empowering you with the resources and support you need to excel academically, explore various career opportunities, and grow as individuals. Your safety and well-being are paramount, and we have made sure that these residences are equipped with the latest security measures to ensure your peace of mind.
We are also thrilled to continue our collaboration with the new Health Corridor at the Lewiston Auburn campus. Its continued transformation into a vibrant hub of academic and community engagement fills us with pride, and we are eager to build upon this progress together, fostering an environment of learning, innovation, and positive impact for all.
At USM PD we are looking forward to meeting new students who are joining our community for the first time on our Gorham campus, and we are equally excited to welcome back returning students who bring with them a wealth of experience and knowledge. Together, we can foster an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone’s voice is heard and valued.
As your Police Chief, I am committed to ensuring the safety and security of our campus. Our dedicated team of law enforcement professionals is always here to serve and protect you. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you ever need assistance or have any concerns. Your safety is our top priority, and we are here to support you in every possible way.
For the year ahead, USM PD is actively planning numerous engagements with the campus community and eagerly anticipates collaborating with all the campus community. Our goal is to foster a strong sense of togetherness, exchange ideas, and work collectively toward creating a vibrant and inclusive campus environment.
Once again, welcome back to campus, and here’s to a fantastic year ahead!
