Cerulean Arts presents A Ponderable Path featuring work by Sam Jones, Robert Reinhardt and Ryan Ward, three artists who embrace experimentation, play and the physicality of materials in their work.
Jones’ paintings are the result of an improvisational mode of working created through a process of layering and erasure. He is interested in using line, mark, shape and color to create playful and inventive spaces that are suggestive, but remain unnameable. His visual vocabulary is inspired by art historical movements such as Abstract Expressionism, Color Field Painting and Pop Art, and everyday references such as text-based languages, graffiti and cartoons.
The exhibition is open from January 31- February 25, with an opening reception on Saturday, February 3, from 2-5pm. The gallery is located in Philadelphia at 1355 Ridge Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
