School of Social Work Celebrates 2023 Graduating Class

Dr. Jeanette Andonian speaks with students and their families during the School of Social Work Commencement Celebration.

On Friday, May 5th, graduates along with their families were invited to come together to celebrate Commencement. The lively event featured remarks by Dr. Jeanette Andonian, Associate Dean of the School of Social Work who inspired students with remarks about life graduation.

Graduates of the social work program are employed in a variety of settings, including schools, mental health practices, the criminal justice system, and hospitals. Social Workers operate on both the macro policy level and micro-level, with the goal of achieving equality and social justice for all communities.

Students and faculty share well-wishes with the graduating class.

Upon completion of the program, School of Social Work students are prepared to promote social change and advance the efforts to end discrimination, oppression, and other types of social injustice.

The university is incredibly proud of the graduate’s achievements, and as we celebrate them we look forward to their continued efforts towards achieving a more equitable society.
