The University of Southern Maine developed the final Master Plan through a process that began in the spring of 2017 and was completed in the fall of 2018. Much of the early process was dedicated to information gathering including tours of all three campuses, extensive interviews, and initial public input.

The final Master Plan was reviewed by the Finance/Facilitates/Technology (FFT) Committee of the University of Maine System Board of Trustees at the FFT Committee’s January 10 meeting. The FFT Committee accepted the report and forwarded it the BOT for their approval. The BOT approved the final Master Plan at their January 27, 2019 meeting. USM will still need to go the BOT for approval for specific capital projects identified in the plan.
