Interested in joining a supportive learning community to help you thrive at USM?

We can help with that.

Russell Scholars is a unique community that helps you make academic and social connections as you complete the Core Curriculum requirements.

All majors welcome.

Residential Option: Live in the “penthouse” in Woodward Hall, a dormitory specially for transfer students!

Our engaging, hands-on classes provide an opportunity to get to know your peers and faculty.

Satisfy several Core requirements in your RSP transfer semester:

RSP 102 Academic Writing (WRI 2), 3 cr.

RSP 199 Topics: Picturing Place (CE), 3 cr.

RSP 325 Into the Wild: Environmental Thinking 1960-present (WRI 3 and Ethical Inquiry), 3 cr.

Taking at least two of these courses together gives you an integrated academic experience.

Beyond this, you can take classes in any department as you pursue your major.
