ROCC Gratitude Annual Scholarship

Description

The ROCC (Recovery Oriented Campus Center) Gratitude Annual Scholarship was created at the University of Southern Maine (USM) in 2023 with a gift received through the University of Southern Maine Foundation (USMF).

Eligibility

The Funds shall be used to provide scholarship support to undergraduate students who self-identify as in recovery for alcohol and/or drug addiction. Recipients must be enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credit hours), maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 and have demonstrated financial need. Awards may be renewable and may require a written affirmation of commitment to recovery. Scholarship recipients will be known as ROCC Gratitude Scholars.

Award Amount

Annual awards of up to $2,500 per semester or $5,000 per year, may be awarded for each student, as funds are available.

How to Apply

Submit your application for financial aid (FAFSA) and send a 1 page essay related to Recovery and your need for Financial Assistance. You should submit your essay directly to Steven Gregory by e-mail at steven.gregory1@maine.edu on or before August 1st.

How to Renew

Awards may be renewable and may require a written affirmation of commitment to recovery.
