Joseph and Betty Stocks (’82) Nursing Scholarship

Description

The Joseph and Betty Stocks (’82) Nursing Scholarship was established at the University of Southern Maine in 2024 with gifts received by the University of Southern Maine Foundation.

The Fund was established to provide two scholarships to two nursing practitioner students per year with demonstrated financial need.

Preference is given to students with families residing in Maine with a desire to work in Maine, especially in rural areas. The scholarships may be awarded once to each student.

Eligibility

Must be enrolled in a Nursing Practitioner program Preference given to students with families residing in Maine with a desire to work in Maine, especially in rural area.  Annual award determined based on enrolled credit hours.

$23,500

How to Apply

Submit an application no later than May 14, 2026 at Noon EDT.

How to Renew

This scholarship renews automatically for three or four years based on intended matriculation (part-time or full-time). Students are otherwise not eligible for this scholarship more than once.
