Counselors are facilitators, collaborators, and advocates for people who are experiencing developmental transitions and difficult life situations. We prepare counselors in the areas of clinical mental health and school counseling.
The Department of Educational and School Psychology offers professional graduate programs to prepare students for careers as Board Certified Behavior Analysts® and/or School Psychologists. Our programs emphasize the application of a collaborative problem-solving approach to promote academic, social-emotional, and behavioral success for the preschool and school-aged population.
The Educational Leadership and Adult and Higher Education department recognizes the career paths of professionals who aspire leadership positions in K12 schools, adult and higher education, community education, non-profit leadership, employee development, health services, and other organizational settings.

The Department of Literacy, Language, and Culture includes the Literacy Education program as well as the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program. Many of our faculty teach in both programs, and several courses are offered to students studying in each program.
The Special Education programs are designed for individuals seeking to earn certification to teach special education or enhance their skills to support students with various learning needs.
The Department of Teacher Education prepares general education elementary (K-6) and secondary (6-12) teachers. Our graduates are prepared with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to enact equity-based practices and create equitable learning spaces in the increasingly diverse and demanding schools of today.
