Registering Your Team

Please follow these instructions to register your team & gain access to your submission folder(s).

1. Determine team division

The division that your team will fall under is determined by the highest grade of any student on a team (not including coaches/mentors). For example, if your team consists of members ranging from grades 4 through 6, you would submit under the 6-8 Division.

For College Division participants, the member(s) of a team must be currently enrolled at a college or university at any level.

For Adult Division participants, there are no restrictions as long as you do not fall into the other categories.

Some coaches may work with large groups that are working on multiple films. Determine the number of teams being submitted. A team must have between 1 & 10 members. Each team will only submit one film, which must be unique. Teams cannot submit more than one film. One film cannot be “shared” between multiple teams – each submission must be unique.

2. Understanding registration fees

Team registration is now a flat fee per team, with the cost depending on the division. Each team submitting a unique film would have to pay the registration fee to gain access to their submission folder. The cost for team registration is as follows:

3. Make a payment

Payment can be made by card, check, or ACH transfer. To make a payment, you need to create an account on our registration portal UltraCamp. You can find the registration screen here: Maine STEM Film Challenge Registration. Click on REGISTRATION, which will prompt you to create an account or sign in.

We use this portal to collect fees for our other programs as well, so you may notice a few odd registration questions (specifically asking for your date of birth and grade level). Though they are required, we do not use that information.

If you are not automatically taken back, navigate to PROGRAMS, click NEW RESERVATION, select your name, select UPCOMING SESSIONS, and click Maine STEM Film Challenge Maine STEM Film Challenge Registration (Payment Only, ’25-’26 season). Follow the onscreen instructions, especially where the team quantity & divisions are specified. You can skip the donations screen when you get to that point by hitting NEXT. Click PROCEED TO PAYMENT. On this screen, you can select one of three payment options. Payment using a credit card or ACH can proceed to following screens to enter information. To pay using a check, just select that option and proceed. The registration will be completed and will provide you with the information to send a check. Here it is as well:

The memo/message line must include “MSFC Registration” + the name of team(s).

Do you need a quote/pay by PO? Please email msfc@maine.edu. You can do this before going on the website and we can generate a quote before registering.

After a registration on UltraCamp is received, please allow up to 3 business days to receive your film submission folder link. We will be using OneDrive, which does not require an account to use. See details below.

Uploading Films

Once a registration is received, the USM STEM team will create & share a OneDrive folder where your team will upload all required documents. These documents are:

-Completed Film (see rules for submission guidelines)

-Completed Release Forms for all members & coaches

-Don’t forget to also submit the Team Profile Form

Please allow for up to 3 business days for the folders to be created & shared with you. These files are due by 11:59pm on Friday, February 27th 2026. No extensions are allowed. All files must be present for a film to be evaluated.
