BioIN offers flexible access to state-of-the-art wet lab space and equipment. Our labs are designed for research, development, and innovation, with close connections to the Roux Institute BioPILOT Lab and other University of Southern Maine (USM) research facilities.

Lab Spaces

Bench Space: Each tenant receives approximately 200 sq. ft. of dedicated bench space with 24/7 key access, under-counter and open shelf storage.

Specialized Labs: Labs include natural gas, compressed air, vacuum lines, and fume hoods. Building-supplied RO water delivers UV-sterilized, charcoal, and reverse osmosis filtered water of 6 to 8 MOhm resistivity. Autoclave room with high-capacity autoclave.

Safety and Storage: Cabinets for flammables, corrosives, and acid-base chemicals. Hazardous and biohazardous waste disposal included.

Membership Benefits: BioIN tenants receive discounted memberships to the Roux BioPILOT Lab program.

    Tissue Culture and Sterile Work

    • Three six-foot Baker Sterigard III Advanced, Class II biosafety cabinets

    • CO2 incubators for cell growth and maintenance

    • Dedicated Betastar autoclave (22”x 22”x36”) for sterilization
