“Greetings from the College of Science, Technology, and Health (CSTH). I am the Dean of the College and welcome you to one of New England’s best-kept secrets. We annually provide over $165,000 in scholarships, a wide range of research opportunities, and interns to local industry. By coupling our faculty’s passion for teaching, impressive research facilities, and strong connections with the local community, we are able to create life-changing opportunities. You might not have seen the press releases for a $1 million dollar donation from Michael Dubyak to create a Center for Digital Science and Innovation or that voters of Maine approved Bond Issue #4 for $49 million to modernize and improve the facilities and infrastructure (some of which includes CSTH).

We have programs spread across the Portland, Gorham, and Lewiston campuses including a dynamic School of Nursing and thirteen academic departments: 1) Biological Sciences, 2) Chemistry, 3) Computer Science, 4) Engineering, 5) Environmental Science and Policy, 6) Exercise, Health, and Sport Sciences, 7) Linguistics, 8) Mathematics and Statistics, 9) Natural and Applied Sciences, 10) Occupational Therapy, 11) Physics, 12) Psychology, and 13) Technology. Cumulatively from these programs, we are able to provide a variety of undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees, minors, and certificates.

We also have an amazing Army ROTC program and are home to the Southworth Planetarium.

I have come to appreciate our amazing University as well as the beauty of Maine. We are growing and I welcome you to be a part of our community.

Please feel free to contact my team or me if you are interested in working with us or learning more.”

Jeremy Qualls, Dean of the College of Science, Technology, and Health
