We believe in the power of partnerships

Membership in the USM Corporate Partners program opens the door to deeper engagement with the University of Southern Maine. Our community of leading companies and organizations shares a commitment to growing Maine's skilled and educated workforce through active collaboration with the University. Our programs are designed to respond to the needs of Maine employers, while helping to create career pathways for our students – because we believe partnerships are a win-win for everyone.

Building Maine's talent pipeline

The Corporate Partners program is built on a foundation of regular programming that showcases issues of interest to Maine's business community. USM Employer Relationship Managers work with our members to understand specific workforce needs and to collaborate on solutions. We provide forums for the exchange of ideas, opportunities to connect with USM faculty, students and staff, and information about academic and professional resources for workforce development.

Through our Corporate Partners program, members have unique access to potential future employees and the ability to harness the growing USM alumni network, now more than 52,000 strong. Through internship and job shadowing programs, job fairs, career networking and more, we are helping employers find and foster the talent they need to build and sustain successful organizations in Maine, today and well into the future. 

More than 75% of USM graduates stay in Maine, working, raising families and contributing to Maine's economy in every sector. They are the strength of Maine's workforce today and the promise of the future. By partnering with employers, we can better prepare our students for success in their careers, while building a skilled and educated workforce for Maine.
