  • Weapon on Campus
  • Aggression/Physical Assault
  • Threat of Violence
  • Facilities Emergency
  • Power Outage
  • Natural Disaster
  • Severe Illness/Injury
  • Unattended Death
  • Suspicious Person
  • Bomb Threat
  • Fire/Explosion
  • Imminent Suicidal Behavior
  • Abuse/Neglect of a minor (required to report by Maine law)

Other Serious Situations

Situations that may not require immediate action to preserve life or property. These situations do require swift action by the University, a continuity of care, and may involve emergency responders at some point. If in doubt, call USM Public Safety; if on the Lewiston Campus, call Lewiston PD and the Dean’s Office.

The contact will ensure that information about resources, accommodations, and complaint procedures are provided.
