Christina Hart, MSN, RN, CMSRN, CNE

Lecturer of Nursing

I am so honored to be a part of the USM SON cohort. As many know, I began my relationship with USM back in 2002 as a traditional student in the nursing program. Upon graduation I took a job at MMC working on a very acute medical-surgical unit, where I still work part-time today. In addition, I have returned to USM twice to earn a second bachelor’s degree in Woman and Gender Studies and my MSN in 2023. So, three degrees later I have returned to help prepare the next generations of nurses to be strong leaders and advocates for the patients they work with and to cultivate an sense of appreciation for the responsibilities they will hold. My area of study is with the intersectionalities of DEI and nursing, both as a profession and a practice. I have been an educator in the Transgender community in Maine since the 2010s and I continue to advocate for appropriate and affirming health care for this community and their loved ones. For hobbies I like to craft with hot-glue, sew and upcycle clothes, work-out (yoga, boxing, and running), and take naps whenever i can.
