Derek Abbott

 Sgt. Derek Abbott has worked in law enforcement for the past 14 years, the last 13 here at USM. Sgt. Abbott is a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, a graduate of Westfield State College and holds a Masters degree in Policy Planning and Management from USM. While off duty, Sgt. Abbott enjoys working out, mountaineering, and spending time with his wife and daughter at his home on Sebago lake. Sgt. Abbott is a marathon runner and has summited almost every U.S. state high point. His favorite place outside of Maine is anywhere tropical. If able, Sgt. Abbott would enjoy a drink and conversation with the late, great, Fred Rogers. Sgt. Abbott is a licensed pilot and avid piano player.
