Ben Towne, lecturer in the Department of Exercise, Health, and Sport Sciences, has been chosen to provide care to athletes on the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton teams at the Sochi Olympics in February 2014.

Dr. James Schilling received the 2012 Outstanding Perspectives Manuscript Runner-up Award for an article published in the Athletic Training Education Journal.

Athletic Training BOC Pass Rates

Graduates of USM's Athletic Training program have a three year aggregate pass rate of 87% - surpassing the national average pass rate of 82% for the Athletic Training Board of Certification (BOC) exam. 

Students graduating from the Athletic Training Program gain employment as athletic trainers in colleges, high schools, and sports medicine clinics throughout Maine and nationally. In addition, many pursue advanced degrees in the fields of athletic training, physician assistant, and physical therapy at schools throughout the country.
