Through the power of competitive gaming, Esports is a new driver of talent and a boon to employers seeking cutting-edge skills like coding, digital animation, and AI development. USM’s championship Esports team cultivates a sense of belonging and an exciting student experience – and the new Collab: Esports Arena on the Gorham campus will be a game changer for our students.

  • Esports is a form of organized, multiplayer video game competition — and one of the fastest-growing sports on college campuses nationwide
  • More than 125 active students participate in USM’s highly competitive Esports Club program — and they are winning big!
  • USM’s program is designed to cultivate highly sought-after high-tech skills — and strengthen the sense of belonging and community on campus
  • Students can now minor in Esports Management at USM — and blend their passion for Esports with a career in business!
  • It’s important to me that Esports is for everyone. When I joined Esports, I went to their first event and I met some people there. . . and I was just, ‘Yeah, these are my people.’ I immediately wanted to be as involved as I could. Our club is continuing to grow… and USM players are consistently showing that they’re not only committed but improving.
