Empowering your community.

At the University of Southern Maine Foundation, we believe that philanthropy is most powerful when it’s shared. Through crowdfunding and social fundraising, members of the USM community (alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents, and friends) can come together to champion the programs, projects, and opportunities that matter most.

Crowdfunding empowers individuals and groups to create focused fundraising campaigns for specific needs: student scholarships, academic departments, athletics teams, or special projects. By sharing these campaigns with your networks—whether on social media, by email, text message, phone call, or in person—you help amplify the impact far beyond what any one of us could do alone.

Social fundraising works because it’s personal. When you ask your classmates, colleagues, family, and friends to join you in supporting USM, you’re not just raising dollars—you’re telling the story of why this place matters. Every share, every message, and every gift builds momentum.

These campaigns are about more than reaching fundraising goals—they are about building community, celebrating Husky pride, and making sure every USM student has the resources and opportunities to succeed. Together, we can show the incredible power of the USM community.
