The Graduate Student Board (GSB) is made up of students who are committed to being leaders and advocates for their graduate student peers at USM. The Board’s work is guided by three main pillars:

Advocacy: Serve as a voice for graduate students to express their needs, concerns, and ideas to leadership, faculty, and staff, in order to take action to address them. 
Community: Ensure that graduate students are well-informed about their rights and resources, and stay meaningfully connected to each other and the broader USM community. 
Engagement: Provide opportunities to connect, collaborate, and network with alumni, employers, and System-wide partners to pursue career development and civic engagement.

For the Spring 2026 semester, the GSB will meet during the following dates & times:

  • Wednesday, January 28: Spring Semester Graduate Community Social
    • 3:00 – 4:30 PM, Glickman Library room 717, Portland campus (no virtual option)
  • Monday, February 23
    • 12:30 – 1:30 PM, McGoldrick Center Prentice Board Room (room 234), Portland campus & Zoom (rsvp for the link)
  • Wednesday, March 25

  • Monday, April 27: Year-End GSB Meeting & Celebration
