The requirements for a graduate representative include being a full time student and being able to serve a 2 year term.. Applicants must be able to review the board materials, attend six in-person meetings and attend twelve committee meetings per year. Student trustees and student representatives are expected to serve as liaisons between the board of trustees and the general student body.

To apply as a graduate student, please submit your resume (include your GPA), cover letter and 2 recommendation letters to usm.studentsenate@maine.edu. Please also forward your application to ava.ellis@maine.edu (current non-voting Graduate Student Representative to the UMS Board of Trustees) and nancy.flagg@maine.edu (liaison to USM’s Graduate Student Board) . Graduate applications should be submitted by December 5, 2023 or earlier and will be reviewed and a decision will be made by January 15, 2024. (Exceptional circumstances: if you need additional time to prepare your application, please submit by the first week of January at the latest, given the events in Lewiston). Please reach out to Ava via email, if you have any questions.

Find more detailed information in this PDF created by Andrew Seile (current non-voting Undergraduate Student Representative to the UMS Board of Trustees) with more detailed information.
