The Office of Graduate Studies (OGS) is committed to facilitating successful, effective, and collaborative relationships between Graduate Assistants (GAs) and supervisors. Whether students are in a position of Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant, or Graduate Assistant-Administrative (collectively, “Graduate Assistants”), we appreciate the effort that supervisors put into creating these enriching work experiences, and we want to do all we can to support you in that endeavor.

Supervisors, below are some common forms involved in the GA program. For detailed information about the hiring process, supervision expectations, and GA performance management, and the implementation of the Universities of Maine Graduate Workers Union (UMGWU) Collective Bargaining Agreement at USM, please visit the Resources for Supervisors page on the MyUSM site.

Students can find more information about applying for positions and the hiring process from the student perspective on the Graduate Assistant Opportunities page.

As always, if you have any questions that have not been addressed within the pages linked above, please contact us at usmgradstudies@maine.edu and we will be happy to help.
