Congratulations to Sloan Metts, a current BSW major and Criminology minor, on being selected for the prestigious Maine Policy Scholars Program.
As a Maine Policy Scholar Sloan, in collaboration with a faculty advisor, will embark on a year-long research project focusing on youth incarceration in Maine. Throughout the course of the year Sloan’s goal will be to analyze the underlying social and structural factors that contribute to the problem of youth incarceration through a criminological and sociological lens.
Sloan’s selection for this prestigious program is an impressive achievement, and the School of Social Work is excited to see the research and insights that will be shared at the end of the experience.
