The University of Southern Maine (USM) is proud to serve as a host site for the prestigious American Mathematics Competitions (AMC-12), a nationwide initiative designed to cultivate the next generation of mathematical thinkers. Organized by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), the AMC offers a series of challenging exams designed to inspire students and foster a love for mathematics.
At USM, the Departments of Mathematics and Statistics and Computer Science collaborate to provide a conducive environment for students participating in the AMC. These departments are committed to promoting mathematical excellence and supporting students in their academic endeavors. Hosting the AMC aligns with USM’s mission to engage students in meaningful learning experiences and contribute to the advancement of mathematical education.
Participation in the AMC is open to students from various educational institutions, providing them with an opportunity to challenge themselves and gain recognition for their mathematical abilities. The competition not only tests students’ problem-solving skills but also encourages them to think critically and creatively.

2025-26 MAA AMC Dates
AMC 12
For high school students in grades 12 and below.
Registration and Pricing:
- Early Bird Registration Deadline: September 30, 2025 ($55 registration fee)
- Regular Registration Deadline: October 15, 2025 ($75 registration fee) – Final deadline for new competition managers
- Late Registration Deadline: October 28, 2025 ($115 registration fee) – Returning competition managers only
- Additional Bundles Deadline – AMC 12 A: November 4, 2025
- Additional Bundles Deadline – AMC 12 B: November 12, 2025
- AMC 12 A Competition Date: November 5, 2025
- AMC 12 B Competition Date: November 13, 2025
Competition Bundle Pricing: One “bundle” costs $30 and provides ten student licenses for AMC 12. These licenses can be applied to either AMC 12 A or AMC 12 B. A single student participating in both AMC 12 A and AMC 12 B will require two student licenses.
