Orientation Dates for New USM Students starting Summer Term 2024

Occurring shortly before the first day of classes, these sessions focus on acquainting you with the campus, offices, and resources, meeting other students, and taking care of last-minute details.

Please note, these sessions are not where students enroll in their courses. Course enrollment is part of the Advising & Course Selection (ACS) Appointment. Learn how to schedule ACS appointments and about other key steps on our Next Steps for Admitted Students Page.

New Student Orientation For Students Starting in Summer Term (All Majors)

Tuesday, May 7, 2024 1-3pm – Online Session will be held via Zoom.

We will also be hosting Welcome Tables on the Gorham and Portland Campuses to answer your questions during the first few days of classes:

Gorham Campus on Monday 5/13 from 10AM-12PM – Bailey Lobby near the Library

Portland Campus on 5/14 from 10AM-12PM – 1st Floor McGoldrick Center

If you are unable to attend Orientation, and are interested in completing a makeup, please email usm.orientation@maine.edu.

Optional: 

  • We will be offering some campus visit opportunities for students the week of May 6th for students to find classrooms, get ID cards and learn about campus resources. Details will be posted in April

Accelerated Nursing Orientation

Tuesday, May 7, 2023 3:30-5:30pm – Online Session will be held via Zoom.
