Congratulations on your admission! We’re excited for you to start your first semester as a USM Husky. Are you ready to join our pack?
Admitted Student Days
Newly-admitted Huskies: Attend one or more all-day events to learn about us and meet your fellow Huskies. We’ll highlight specific majors depending on the date, so make sure to review your options!
Important next steps
There are some important steps you must complete before attending your first class. Keep your acceptance packet handy and find out how to enroll in courses, submit your immunization records, attend orientation, and connect with student services.
Need housing?
You’re more likely to build better relationships with faculty and peers, feel supported, and earn higher grades as a residential student. If you want to live on campus, it’s time to complete your housing application and pay your $75 housing deposit.
Still have questions?
Reach out to your friendly and dedicated Admissions counselor with any questions or if you need help with your admission. Your counselor is happy to connect with you through your communication preference: video chat, email, phone, or text.
Parents & family members
As an incoming student, your success is our main focus — but we know your parents and families are also integral. We collected undergraduate resources in one place for everyone to learn about orientation, dining plans, disability services, campus safety, school breaks, and other essentials.
Questions about financial aid?
We believe education should be affordable and are committed to helping you navigate the financial aid process. We’ll help you understand your options: from scholarships and grants to student loans and completing your FAFSA. Securing financial aid means you can save money and focus on your studies.
New buildings on our Portland campus
Our new eco-conscious McGoldrick Center for Career & Student Success and Portland Commons residence hall are open! The new buildings offer student services, a dining hall, plenty of lounge and study areas, our University Store, and even a café and brewpub. Housing is available for ages 22+ with the option for 12-month contracts.
Meet fellow admitted Huskies
We created an exclusive social space just for your incoming class! Connect with your future classmates, find roommates, and get your questions answered in our USM Class of 2028 community on the Nearpeer platform.
Download digital swag
Show your Husky pride by downloading a custom USM background image for your phone, iPod, tablet, computer, Zoom, or social media account. Choose from campus shots, Portland’s Back Cove, or the Old Port.
Tours and online experiences
We want to ensure you have the access you need to make your final admission decision. Sign up for a webinar dedicated to admitted students or schedule a one-on-one video chat with a current student. If you haven’t been to campus yet — or want to return — register for an in-person walking tour.
