USM School of Business Extends AACSB Accreditation

The USM School of Business has successfully extended its AACSB accreditation, a distinction earned by fewer than six percent of business schools worldwide. USM is one of only five AACSB-accredited institutions in northern New England, alongside the University of Maine, the University of New Hampshire, Dartmouth College, and the University of Vermont.

MEMIC Endowed Chair in Risk Management & Insurance

Dana Kerr, Associate Professor of Risk Management and Insurance will become the inaugural holder of the endowed chair. He described the role as “a bridge between education and opportunity,” furthering USM’s mission to equip students with the skills necessary to excel in an evolving industry. This support not only enhances USM’s RMI program but also solidifies the university’s role in advancing education and career opportunities in risk management and insurance across Maine and New England.

The 2025 TrailblazHer Walk & 5K is a fundraiser for USM Women’s Athletics and planned and managed by students in our Sport Management Sport & Event Facility Management course.
