As I progressed through the SBS program, I had the privilege of taking many enlightening classes that really opened windows into unique pathways that come with this degree. Through the courses and the internship, I was able to discover my passion for working with and advocating for children from a diverse range of backgrounds. It is thanks to the SBS program that I will be entering into the Master’s Program in School Counseling at USM to start my next steps in reaching my professional goal of being a school counselor.

Being an SBS student was about seeking knowledge and applying what I learned in the classroom to the world around me. It shaped me to consider numerous avenues in everyday life, academia, and my career path. The thing I enjoyed most about the SBS program was the wealth of knowledge, perspectives, and freedom that I had access to in every class and within the degree path itself.
