Program highlights

  • Customize your mode of study with our flexible hybrid (hyflex) program: Courses are held in person while simultaneously being live-streamed online. Attend in person or online during each scheduled meeting time.
  • Tailor the major to your interests and career goals: Choose to concentrate on Hospitality Management or Sustainable Tourism Innovation & Development.
  • Gain real-world experience through internships, capstone projects, international travel abroad, and community projects with industry partners.
  • Prepare for a wide range of careers in areas such as travel and tour agencies, event companies, hotels, restaurants, or marketing and travel management organizations.

Become certified

As a graduate, you’ll be eligible to apply for the Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA) or become a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA).

Real-world job preparation

Internships and active learning within the community prepare students for real-world challenges, a broad range of experience, and the opportunity to create strong professional networks. Past students have interned with AAA Travel, Maine Native American organizations, and top hospitality companies.

Program requirements

Our program is an interdisciplinary degree designed to prepare future leaders within tourism and hospitality. Students choose from either the Sustainable Tourism Innovation and Development concentration or the Hospitality Management concentration.

Internationally recognized faculty

Our faculty bring up-to-the-day knowledge and extensive experience into the classroom. They are regularly invited to present their work on sustainable tourism management at national and international conferences and publish in journals and books.

Scholarship opportunities

Scholarships offer valuable financial aid that doesn’t need to be repaid. You’ll be automatically considered for Merit Scholarships when you apply for admission by the deadline. Additional opportunities are available.
