Students Present at Workshop

Two students, Mandy Ho, and Nick Largey, from the Department of Computer Science, have had papers accepted to the 15th Temporal Web Analytics Workshop and Conference 2025. Mandy, presenting her first paper, has authored “Analyzing the Influence of the Pandemic on Seasonal Queries.” This work explores the impact of the pandemic on seasonal queries and how these changes influence temporal query classification. Mandy’s paper results from her information retrieval course project showcase her deep engagement with the evolving dynamics of search behavior.

Returning with his second paper, Nick will present “Temporal Aspects of CLIP Embeddings.” This paper investigates how image embedding models, specifically CLIP, understand temporal aspects, with a focus on artworks. Nick’s research delves into the intersection of computer vision and temporal analysis, offering fresh insights into how models capture and interpret time-related information in visual data. Both students have demonstrated impressive research abilities, and we look forward to seeing their work presented at the workshop.
