The Department of Computer Science is proud to announce that 35 of its undergraduate majors have earned a place on the University of Southern Maine’s Dean’s List for the Spring 2025 semester. This honor is reserved for students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, completing at least 12 graded credit hours and earning a semester grade point average of 3.6 or higher.
Being named to the Dean’s List is a significant accomplishment that highlights not only academic excellence, but also dedication, perseverance, and intellectual curiosity. Students recognized in this way have demonstrated strong performance across a range of rigorous coursework, including programming, discrete mathematics, systems design, and theoretical computer science.
This level of academic excellence opens doors to a range of future opportunities, including competitive internships, undergraduate research experiences, scholarships, and post-graduate employment or study. Many of these students go on to participate in faculty-led research projects, contribute to open-source software, or gain hands-on experience through industry partnerships coordinated by the department.
In a field that demands both technical expertise and continuous problem-solving, these students have set a high bar for academic achievement and professional growth. Their success reflects both individual effort and a broader culture of excellence fostered by the department and university community.
