Newly-admitted Huskies: Attend one or more all-day events to learn about us and meet your fellow Huskies. We’ll highlight specific majors depending on the date, so make sure to review your options!

Undergraduate admission

Choose from a wide array of programs, with both in-person and online options. We’re located at the heart of Maine’s most vibrant region, giving you access to exciting opportunities for internships, service learning, and research.

Graduate study admission

We designed our graduate programs to be flexible and highly relevant to current economic, health, and civic needs. We offer a variety of master’s and doctoral degree programs — some of which you can complete entirely online!

Not interested in a full degree? Get a solid foundation in your chosen area of study or career field through an undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, graduate, or advanced study certificate — some are entirely online!

New buildings on our Portland campus

Our new eco-conscious McGoldrick Center for Career & Student Success and Portland Commons residence hall are open! The new buildings offer student services, a dining hall, plenty of lounge and study areas, our University Store, and even a café and brewpub. Housing is available for ages 22+ with the option for 12-month contracts.

Returning to USM

If you previously enrolled as a student and took a semester (or a few) off, coming back may be easier than you’d expect. We’re here to help you return — every step of the way.
