Portland campus
Our McGoldrick Center for Career and Student Success and Portland Commons residence hall are brand-new additions to our bustling Portland, Maine campus.
Parking is available in the garage attached to the Abromson Community Education Center. The garage entrance is on Surrenden Street. We will validate your parking session.
Portland campus tours
All Portland campus tours depart from the Admissions Welcome Center, which is located on the first floor of the Abromson Community Education Center (room 111).
Our first-year student residence halls and NCAA Division III athletics facilities are located on our Gorham campus but will be discussed on this tour.
What to expect on your tour
- Our walking campus tours last approximately one hour.
- Dress appropriately for New England weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.
- Please leave pets at home. Only service animals are allowed on campus.
- Review our parking validation process before you arrive on campus.
- You and your guest(s) will be part of a tour group that will not exceed 20 people.
- Restrooms and water bottle refill stations are available and accessible.

Gorham campus
Our first-year student residence halls and NCAA Division III athletics facilities are located in Gorham, Maine, a charming New England village just 10 miles west of Portland.
Parking is available near the water tower, off Water Tower Road. We will validate your parking session.
Gorham campus tours
All Gorham campus tours depart from the Admissions Welcome Center, located on the first floor of Bailey Hall (room 100A). Our new student center is located on our Portland campus but will be discussed on this tour.

Step-by-step parking validation via QR code or text-to-pay
Starting July 1, our PAY HERE signs will include a number you can text from your mobile phone to start your validated parking session.
Text-to-pay is an alternative option to scanning the QR code, but it still requires a mobile device that can access the internet.
If you choose to extend your validated parking session, you’ll need to begin a new paid parking session at our standard rates.
NOTE: Parking on our Lewiston-Auburn campus is free.
If you can’t find a PAY HERE sign, we have QR codes you can scan at our Welcome Centers on both the Gorham and Portland campuses.
There is a sign at the entrance to each parking lot or garage, and smaller signs are mounted on poles.
You can choose to scan the QR code or text the parking zone number to 559-922-2660. The zone number is different for each parking lot or garage.
You’ll receive a new text message from 509-260-8793 with a link. Open the link and the rest of the process is the same as if you had scanned the QR code.
In this example, the Zone number is 50110, so you would text 50110 to 559-922-2660.
Omit any spaces, dots, dashes, hearts, stars, handprints, etc. that may appear on your license plate.
With our validation code, and as a guest of the Office of Admissions, you can park for free up to a full day (until 11:00 p.m.).
If you aren’t sure how long you’ll be on campus, we recommend that you err on the side of too much time for your parking session. If you plan to park for more than 5 hours, choose the day rate option.
Your paid or validated parking session doesn’t carry over to another USM campus.
If you visit both our Portland and Gorham campuses in one day, you will need to start a new paid or validated parking session for each campus.
For example: If you tour our Gorham campus in the morning and then our Portland campus after lunch, you’ll need to start a new paid or validated parking session for each campus tour. (Or vice versa.)
Enter the code you were given into the Validation Code field and tap Apply.
If your parking validation code was provided to you as a QR code, tap the small QR code next to the Apply link to scan the code you were given.

Make sure to start your session within our grace period to avoid receiving a fine.
NOTE: Your credit card won’t be charged until 30 minutes after you leave campus.

We’ll send you a webinar or meeting link 24 hours before your event.
