How to Confirm Your Enrollment

We are so glad you have decided to attend the University of Southern Maine (USM)!

As an admitted undergraduate or graduate student, you can reserve your spot at USM by submitting your non-refundable* enrollment deposit or intent enroll depending on your program.

Undergraduate students

Bachelor degree deposit requirement

All undergraduate students entering a bachelor’s degree program must submit a non-refundable* $100 enrollment deposit.
 

Certificate programs without a deposit requirement

To confirm your intent to enroll in an undergraduate certificate program, mail the yellow confirmation card you received with your admissions decision letter to the following address, or send us an email with your intent to enroll.

  1. Log in to MaineStreet
    • Select Student Self-Service
    • Select Student Center
  2. Under the “Finances” section, select Pay My Deposit

    • If your bill shows $0.00, this is normal — you are making a deposit toward your admission
  3. If prompted, choose University of Southern Maine from the dropdown menu and hit “Select”
    • This field will only appear if you’ve applied to more than one school in the University of Maine System
  4. Choose the semester you plan to start from the dropdown menu and hit “Select”
  5. Choose USM Admissions Deposit from the next dropdown menu and hit “Select”
  6. Enter “100” in the Payment Amount field and hit “Continue”
  7. Choose your payment method from the dropdown menu and hit “Continue”
    • Enter your payment information
    • Credit card payments are handled through our tuition payment service, PayPath®, and a non-refundable service fee of 2.85% (minimum $3.00) will be added to your total
    • Follow the remaining prompts until you receive confirmation and a payment receipt

If you encounter issues processing your payment, please contact Student Financial Services at 207-780-5250 and press 2.
 

Problems with your MaineStreet account?

If you are unable to access your MaineStreet account, contact our Technology Support Center at 207-780-4029.

Checks and money orders should be made payable to “University of Southern Maine.”

Mail your check or money order with your Accepted Student Confirmation Card (or with the student’s name, address, and student ID number) to the following address:

Call us at 207-780-5670 to make a credit card payment over the phone, or stop by one of our Office of Admissions or Student Financial Services locations to pay in person.

The University of Maine System has partnered with Flywire to accept payment from any country and any bank, generally in your home currency.

Pay your enrollment deposit* securely.

Once you’ve submitted your enrollment deposit, there are still a few more steps to take before your first semester begins, including:

  • Completing your housing application if you plan to live on campus
  • Submitting your final high school transcript
  • Providing your immunization records
  • Attending your Advising and Course Selection appointment

Programs with a deposit requirement

The following graduate programs require a non-refundable* $200 enrollment deposit:

  • Creative Writing — Stonecoast program (MFA)
  • Extended Teacher Education Preparation (ETEP) (MSEd)
  • Nursing — Option for Non-Nurses with Baccalaureate Degrees (MS)
  • Occupational Therapy (MOT)
  • Social Work (MSW)
     

Programs without a deposit requirement

To confirm your intent to enroll in a graduate degree or certificate program that does not require an enrollment deposit, complete our enrollment form, mail the yellow confirmation card you received with your admissions decision letter to the following address, or send us an email with your intent to enroll.
