Spend the afternoon on our Gorham campus meeting current students, connecting with admissions counselors, and getting a firsthand look at our classrooms, labs, and student spaces. You’ll leave with clear next steps for applying, understanding financial aid, and deciding if USM is the right fit for you. You also have the option to add on a morning tour of the USM Portland campus as well!

Friday, April 17, 2026: Gorham Campus (+ Portland Campus Optional Add on)

10:00 – 11:30 AM: Kick off your visit with a tour of our Portland campus

Our student ambassadors will take you on an unconventional walking tour of our urban Portland campus, where we add a few extra stops that our regular tours don’t make:

  • Check out our Maker Innovation Studio (MIST) lab
  • Visit the Southworth Planetarium
  • Tour the Osher Map Library and Smith Center for Cartographic Education (OML)
  • And more!

Quick Info:

  • Location: Your tour will depart from the Admissions Welcome Center in the Abromson Center.
  • Parking: Park for free in our garage on Surrenden Street, which is attached to the Abromson Community Education Center. (You will need to start a new parking session for the Portland campus. Use the same code we gave you for Gorham.)
  • Commute to Gorham Campus: Once the tour ends, it is an 11-mile drive to our Portland campus, or do as many of our students do and hop on the METRO Husky Line bus service between campuses.

Park free all afternoon in the parking lots near Corthell Hall (lot numbers G6, G3, G4, G8).

Then, head inside to our Admissions Welcome Center, Corthell Hall, 13 University Way, Gorham Campus, and check in with our team.

Join our Admissions team for a free lunch in Brooks Dining Hall.

Athletics, financial aid, residential life, student engagement and belonging, early college, etc.

Our student ambassadors will take you on an unconventional walking tour of our residential Gorham campus where we add a few extra stops that our regular tours don’t make!

Head to Corthell Concert Hall to join us for a panel of recent graduates and student life staff. You’ll be able to ask questions — and we’ll have a little fun, too!
