Orientation is your opportunity to learn more about USM. During your in-person Orientation session you can expect to:

  • Explore our campuses and USM Resources.
  • Connect to community, classmates, and new friends.
  • Prepare for success in and outside the classroom.
  • Learn about yourself and others.

Please Note: Enrolling in courses occurs during your one-on-one Advising & Course Selection (ACS) appointment, which is completed separately from the Orientation events listed below. Fall ‘24 Orientation ALL New Huskies (Residential, Commuter, and Online) Zoom Orientation (Required): Students Attend One August 24th 9AM-12PM | August 26th 6-9PM | August 28th 2-5PM Campus Community Days (Opt-In): September 1st & September 2nd All students welcome to attend events taking place on and off campus. Meet new friends, get settled, and kick off the year right! Residential Students: First Year Move In: Friday, August 30th Residential Orientation : August 30th: Evening (Required) August 31st: Full Day (Required) Commuter Students: Campus Visit Days (Opt-In) August 26th (Portland) August 27th (Gorham) Registration for all Orientation events will be available July 15th - August 15th. Transportation & Parking

Orientation events occur on each of our three campuses, and there is parking available on all campuses. Guests on campus will need to pay for parking, and students with cars on campus will need to register their car for a permit through the HONK app. For more information about this, please visit the Parking Services webpage.
