Join Nancy Hagstrom, Ed.D. and other local educators, to strategize ways to leverage existing or nascent middle school and high school advisory programs to positively impact the culture of your school. This will be a virtual workshop model, so please be ready to collaborate with other participants in pursuit of tangible next steps for what advisory looks like in your context.
Facilitator bio
Nancy Hagstrom is a career educator who has taught Spanish for 12 years in both Portland Public and Yarmouth Schools. Additionally, she served as the Teaching Strategist for five years at a middle school in Portland where she helped to facilitate a transition to a new advisory program focused on building school community and culture for both students and staff. She completed her Ed.D. at Northeastern University in 2023 and centered her research on how to leverage collective inquiry and collegial relationships in pursuit of innovation, spending time in a local middle school helping their staff to build a new advisory program.
