Participation is open and free to all University of Southern Maine students, staff, and faculty!

Visit the University of Southern Maine’s IMLeagues page for detailed instructions on how to register and create an Intramural Sports team on the IMLeagues.com platform.

We offer two different federal work-study (FWS eligible) employment opportunities in Recreation. We hire Intramural Sport Referees and Recreation Event Managers! Email usm.recreation@maine.edu to learn more.

Intramural sports involve tournaments and leagues that students participate in playing against other University of Southern Maine student on campus. Club sports offer students the ability to practice 2-3 times a week, compete against teams from other universities, and travel on regional and national levels to compete. Students can and are encouraged to participate in both intramurals and club sports!

Intramurals are a great option for students who want to participate in a variety of different leagues and learn new sports. Club Teams are a great option for students who want to participate in a sport at a competitive level, but not at the commitment or competitiveness level as an NCAA athletics team.
