Clay for Everyone is an introduction to ceramics which will provide students with the basic skills to create ceramic work. Students will learn to make sculptural and functional
forms utilizing various hand building techniques, wheel-throwing of the potter's wheel and various glaze and surface treatments. The course will also cover the basic history of clay through various cultures and how the artform has evolved over time. The aim of the course is to develop an understanding of the fundamentals of forming clay, developing three dimensional surfaces, and an introduction to the firing process.
Fulfills Creative Expression Core Requirement. Prerequisites:

The Complete City: Summer of Spatial Design is a two-week intensive that introduces students to the fundamentals of spatial thinking. Learning from architects, landscape architects, and urban designers, students will develop foundational skills on how to observe, analyze, and create in context. Students will learn to see the world differently! This course is designed by a local multi-disciplinary team through the Portland Society for Architecture and the Boston Society for Landscape Architecture.
This course has a Summer program fee of $100, which helps to provide course materials and guest speakers. Prerequisites:
