Description
This award is for graduate students at USM. Scholarships are awarded in variable amounts of up to $1,500 for the Spring (2027) semester, and are based on a holistic review taking into consideration financial need, academic performance, and contributions to the USM community.
The next round for the Office of Graduate Studies Spring Scholarship will be for the Spring 2027 semester. Applications will open September 1, 2026. Students must meet all eligibility requirements and apply on or before October 15, 2026 to be considered for this award.

Eligibility
To qualify, students must:
- be matriculated in a master's or doctoral degree at USM
- students in Accelerated Graduate Pathways must be matriculated in the graduate program
- be in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or better
- students in their first semester are eligible to apply with a 0.0 GPA
- be enrolled in at least 6 graduate credits for the Spring session(s)
- have completed the FAFSA
- non US citizens need not complete
- not be a University of Maine System employee
- student workers and Graduate Assistants are eligible
