We work hard to reduce the University’s carbon footprint, support efforts to promote zero waste, repair biodiversity, and provide students with hands-on professional development opportunities working on these projects. We engage students of all majors, skill sets and career interests across the University because everyone can make a difference.

About us
The Office of Sustainability strives to make the University of Southern Maine's campuses more environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable, while teaching its graduates the sustainability skills they need to thrive in a world facing global environmental change. We serve all three USM campuses (Portland, Gorham & Lewiston) as well as Online students, staff and faculty. Appointments can be made to meet with us on any campus.
