TRIO Upward Bound at the University of Southern Maine (UB at USM) assists high school students in graduating from high school and preparing for success in college. We provide high school students with:
- Personalized planning and support combined with a wide array of challenging activities and opportunities to help students gain the experience and skills needed for academic and personal success in high school and college
- A working partnership with students, their families, and school staff to help students achieve their own aspirations of successfully graduating from college
- Year-round academic support for students through weekly school meetings
- A residential Summer Program with academic courses and workshops
- An opportunity for students to develop open minds, self-confidence, creativity, and persistence, as well as communication and leadership skills
Eligible students must meet at least one of several possible criteria, based on factors such as parent education and family income, to join Upward Bound.
