Veterans Upward Bound offers free post-high school educational workshops in Math, English, and Science. These courses assemble a small group of veterans looking for similar refresher material. The curriculum, designed by the instructor, is to build not only your level of comfort with the material but also to build your confidence as a student.

The refresher courses are free for eligible veteran participants and are non-credit bearing. Classes are taught virtually by one of our VUB teachers. Class materials are provided.

Our math refresher course is designed to prepare students for their first college math class. Our refresher courses are free for eligible veteran participants and are non-credit bearing. This course will be taught virtually for about one hour per week and will run for five weeks. We will provide and send out all necessary class materials.

Our English composition refresher course is designed to prepare students with the literary and writing skills needed for their first English college class. Our refresher courses are free for eligible veteran participants and are non-credit bearing. This course will be taught virtually for about one hour per week and will run for five weeks. We will provide and send out all necessary class materials.

English Refresher Course Registration

Our science refresher course is designed to prepare students for their first science college class. In this course, we cover the scientific method, conversions of units, how to conduct research, and how to vet sources. Our refresher courses are free for eligible veteran participants and are non-credit bearing. This course will be taught virtually for about one hour per week and will run for five weeks. We will provide and send out all necessary class materials.
